Walter W. Taylor collection, circa 1905-1910.

The Walter W. Taylor collection consists of three items donated by the son of Walter Taylor, Paul Taylor, in 2010. The items include a banner, Mechanical Arts drawings and a photo album. These items were collected by Walter W. Taylor when he was a student at the Mechanics Institute around 1905. The Walter W. Taylor collection contains three items; a banner, Mechanical Arts class drawings, and a photograph album. All three items belonged to Mr. Taylor around the time he was attending the Mechanics Institute in Rochester, New York. The banner is a large blue cotton flag with white lettering: on each side is written '05. It is believed that Mr. Taylor was attending the Mechanics Institute in 1905 and the flag belonged to the upper classmen. They greased the flag pole and Mr. Taylor along with others captured it. He used a pair of climbers to get up the pole. There are 31 drawings of Mr. Taylor's from his first year Mechanical Arts class.
